Howard G. Etling


Entered the Army on 20 December 1942 at the age of 20.

Howard was honorably discharged on 02 December 1945.


He participated in the largest convoy of ships to cross the Atlantic during WWII - The "Monteray" consisting of 37 ships.


Headquarters - Battery 932nd Field Artillery Battalion


Position - Technician Fifth Grade - Corporal

Radio Operaotr- 30 Caliber M1 and 30 Caliber Carbine Export

Served in Africa, Italy, Southern France, Austria and Germany


Drove weapons carrier and received instructions from observer planes then radioed instructions to infantry.


Recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, African and Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and the WWII Victory Medal.
