Second Lieutenant Thomas Stillwagon


Thomas Stillwagon was born in 1922 in Connellsville. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1942. He serv ed in WWII and the Korean War. During WWII, he was assigned to the 397th Infantry Regiment of the 100th Infantry Division. Thomas was awarded the Silver Star, the Purple Heart with Clusters and the Bronze Star. He also received a Combat Infantry Badge and a European Theater Ribbon with two Battle Stars for the Southern France & German Campaigns. He retired from the infantry as a major in 1962. Thomas died in 1975 and was buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
